Transition

It’s going to be Week 12 already. Thesis is almost done. Although the submission was supposed to be 1st of April but my examiner postponed it to the 15th. So, my first thesis submission will only be to my own supervisor on the 8th of April. Luckily for the false alarm that made me rush my thesis so that I’m roughly done now and don’t really need to rush it later. What’s left are the final touches and compilations only.

HR final report was handed in last week already as well. So, what’s left now is a surprise presentation this coming week as well as the final presentation next week which I hope would not take too much of a time because my groupmates should be quite good at presenting. :p

HCI project is also due this week. Hopefully, my group will be able to settle it in time. I think it should be quite possible because Sean, my groupmate is very good at Flash so he knows how to integrate and so on. So, basically we just need to integrate the program as well as come up with a 3-page report which should be a piece of cake. 😀

After all the crazy submissions and presentations this coming two weeks, it will be exam times. I only have 2 this semester where they are two weeks apart from each other. Hopefully, I’ve got time to prepare for it. I just want to pass and graduate.

Yes, I AM graduating soon. Wow, time really flies quickly. Just yesterday, I was attending orientation in Raffles. Okay, not really yesterday. 4 years has been a really great journey. Whether in academics, hall life, sports, relationships, I think I have really grown and learnt a lot from the past 4 years. Hopefully, it has contributed to me being a better person. Soon, I’ll be embarking on the working world journey. Hope THAT will be a great experience as well. I realize I’m using a lot of the word “hope”. Well, I guess that is what everyone says when the future is uncertain. But, looking back, I really appreciate the time I had in Singapore, NUS, Raffles. It has been a great journey. Wait, it’s not over yet. :p So I”ll be back soon, hopefully. :p

HR Presentation

I finally am done with my HR pair presentation today. It went pretty well as I only talked for about 2 and a half minutes or more by a bit. And, of course, we did get quite a number of questions as our topic “Social Media at the Workplace” is quite a controversial issue. Luckily, my partner Amanda could confidently answer most of them. Our tutor was rather positive about the whole thing, filling her feedback form with positive comments as well as thoughts on how we could better present.

I never like presentations because I tend to be nervous and so on. I just don’t like speaking in public I suppose. I guess it can be trained. But, just don’t feel comfortable with it just yet. I think I would rather talk about topics that I know of rather than crap on about something I don’t really have an idea on. I really hope that future jobs which require any presentations be more technical. Or maybe I will improve more later, hopefully.

I’m still struggling with my FYP, just the final bits. Really hope that it’ll be over soon. Still a long way to go but wish that it could be. :p

Summary of final sem first month

As usual, I have ignored my blog for over a month now. It’s been 3 weeks going into the 4th week now of school. This is my final semester and I am only taking 2 modules (other than my FYP), HR and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). So far, I have almost ignored those 2 module because of my FYP. Rushing the application so that we can produce something quickly. Hopefully, we’ll manage to do something before CNY. Otherwise, won’t even be in the mood to celebrate.

HCI is quite interesting up til now. We have to demonstrate a product using Flash or any other technologies and it doesn’t seem to be that difficult (probably until we really start work on it). In HCI, the lecturer would show us poor designs of stuff, some of them are really ridiculous. I found a website with a whole list of it.

HR on the other hand is rather boring, maybe cause I’m not into these human management stuff. But, at least our lecturer is a nice, sweet lady which doesn’t make me dread to go to class. Project wise, I guess it’s pretty okay as well cause my team members seem to be great people.

I have also been starting to jobhunt. The NUS Career Fair was just over and I managed to drop 9 resumes there. Some I’m quite interested, but some just dropped it for fun. I’ve also submitted some online. Basically, I applied for those jobs with relations to information technology. Hopefully, there will be interview chances soon.

Lazy

This semester I think I have been really lazy. Most of my assignments are done last minute. Even studying I leave it until the last minute. I don’t know why. I know I need to start but yet I just don’w want to start or do anything. Even when people tell me to start, I am like okay but I don’t do anything. Just not inspired and don’t have the urgency anymore. When I get my grades later I can blame noone but myself. I really can’t think of the reasons why. Just an attitude change. Perhaps sick of all that studying and so on. Or just have distractions other places. Nothing anyone can do about it. It all just comes down to myself to inspire myself now. Sigh.

Crazy week

I’m having a crazy week in this last week of school. 3 presentations, 3 reports and 1 assignment due. Horror only ends at 11.59pm of 14th November on Sunday. I had 1 presentation on Monday, EE3702 Electronic Gaming. It was alright because we thought that we had to present it last week instead of this week so we were kind of prepared already. So, just had to compile the 10-page report and tie-up the presentation for it. The presentation was only 10 minutes anyway.

Tomorrow, I have my FYP report + presentation slides due. Report is almost alright but presentation slides I need to settle quick. Hardly prepared for my presentation on Friday. And it’s FYP, oh my God. Hopefully, I can survive nicely through it. Also, tomorrow I have a presentation for EE4604 as well. We practiced only a little but it should be fine. The report is due on Friday and don’t really have much time to do it. Somehow will pull through I hope. And, another programming assignment due on Sunday.

After that I’ll be free! Nah! After that I have gotta study for exams and I better be dilligent. I haven’t done well for many midterms and quizzes and I predict I won’t do too well in grades this semester. Hopefully, it won’t pull down my final CGPA much. It’s not too high already now. Sigh. I should work harder for the finals but depends on my mood then. O well, grades aren’t everything in life, are they?
