I was watching the Japanese drama “Waterboys” and one particular scene touched me. The snychronised swimming guys were looking for 200 volunteers and one particular member put in his all and found 5 people and 2 people by himself in two separate incidents. You might be thinking that out of 200 volunteers, the guy found 7 only so why is that so great? Personally, I think that the producers are smart to put this scene in because it brings out the idea that little things DOES matter. The feeling I felt when seeing the guy come back with this small figure of volunteers was all so familiar. I guess in real life, it holds true as well. It reminds me of the peribahasa that we’re all so familiar with – “sedikit-sedikit lama-lama jadi bukit”. Although we normally use that phrase to refer to our financial savings, but honestly I think that it applies very much to the little things in life as well. Looking back in the past, there are some things which may feel small but I remember them until now. A kindly gesture of helping me get attention from people by Phang sparked our friendship. Kok Loon who helped me debug my project – relieved me from great stress. A pat on the head sends a happy feeling throughout the whole body. I sincerely feel that small gestures are platforms to build on the social life relationship. With that, I hope that the little things that I do for others will be etched in their memories forever just like how others has affected my life. =)
